Welcome to the REC Broadcast Query - In this tool, you can search for broadcast facilities in the USA and Canada using the databases of the FCC and Industry Canada. Due to the differences in the way that each administration maintains their data, some functionality in the tool will work different based on which administration's database you want to access. Keep in mind that each administration keeps information in their databases about 'foreign' stations along the border (for example, some information about Canadian stations is available in the FCC database.)

Contour maps for Canada assume all facilities running non-directional antennas at this time. We are working on this for a future release.

To Access: FCC Data Industry Canada Data
A specific station Enter the FCC Facility ID or station call sign. Enter the Call Sign and change pulldown box to 'in Canada Database'.
Archived records Check the 'Include Archived Records' box. Canada's database structure does not show archived records and does not follow an 'application' process like the USA.
All stations within a particular area Enter the geographic coordinates (in decimal format), ZIP Code or you can enter a city/state. Click on the frequency or channel to view the individual station record. Enter the geographic coordiantes (in decimal format) or you can enter a city/province. Make sure you change the drop down box after the province from USA to Canada. Click on the frequency or channel to view the individual station record.
In border areas, both FCC and Industry Canada information will be displayed. To view USA data, click on the station in the upper section. For Canada data, use the lower section.
By a particular owner/party name Enter the search term and then the party type in the drop down box. Search by Owner's Name. Select 'Licensee (Canada)' in the Party Type.
